Credit Where Credit’s Due

Last week I blogged about the abysmal experience I had flying home from London on QF32 that took over 49 hours. Well, I have to update that story.

QF32D Refeulling in Singapore

This week Qantas finally followed up on my camera loss from 28 June. No they haven’t found it, and yes they confirmed this again with the team at Hong Kong. Of course there’s no compensation, but they have provided me with a letter that should suffice for my travel insurance.

Note: Always take out Travel Insurance!

They also sent me a letter and a travel voucher, to the tune of $800, as compensation for the disastrous flight. My first response was “wow!”

Upon further reflection, it doesn’t really compensate for a day’s lost revenue. Especially as I have to use the voucher on Qantas (not transferrable, and no JetStar allowed). But it does go some way, to saying sorry.

So, credit where credit’s due: Well done Qantas on the vouchers.
